Betty Pottinger
TechiePaws, Inc., has recently finished the application process for an Aladdin Rainbow video magnification system. Betty Pottinger, 77, of Creston, IA. has been selected to receive the device.
Pottinger, who has battled Macular Degeration and cataracts for several years, has lost the ability to read, balance financial records for the family farm and has begun having difficulties with her medications.
The unit awarded to Mrs. Pottinger is an Aladdin Rainbow video magnification system, manufactured by Telesensory. The 13 inch screen allows Pottinger to magnify text up to 3 inches and view material under the camera in a variety of color contrasts.
“We believe Betty will regain daily living skills that she has lost as the result of her visual difficulties and find new enjoyment in activities that have not been part of her life for quite some time” states TechiePaws Executive Director Jesse Bolinger.
